Hot air balloon mass ascension world record broken!

Metz, France - The French set a new world record of 408 balloons launched at one time! The record was previously held by the U.S. with 345 balloons launched within 1 hour. The key to the success of this event was having a large runway to line up the Hot air balloons allowing for a simultaneous launch . Unfortunately, at balloon fiesta in Albuquerque, the balloons are launched in waves due to limited space. Amazing!
A total of 1,207 pilots and 983 hot-air-balloons took part in the festival.
